Firmware

A bootable CD firmware update is available for this drive, which updates the DW-28E-01 and UJDA720's firmware to 2.1C and 1.03 respectively.

Linux support

If connected at boot time, the drive is normally /dev/sr0.

Problem regarding reading video DVDs

When playing a region-coded video DVD for the first time using a Linux player, you may get errors such as the following:
