Information about Linux panicing on boot on the T30 with 1 GiB memory module installed.

Problem description

If one 1 GiB module is installed on the T30 then Linux panics on boot, saying that it cannot find a root filesystem.

A solution is to put

    uppermem 524288

in the set of grub commands that boots the OS.
