Installing Debian 6.0 (squeeze) on a ThinkPad X220

I tried to install Debian 6.0 (squeeze) on a ThinkPad X220.

I got the X220 to boot the Debian installer but then I discovered that Debian 6.0 lacks a driver for the Ethernet card in the X220.

So I decided to install Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal).
