The BioAPI Consortium is developing a biometric Application Programming Interface that aims to wrap biometric devices in a platform- and device-independent API.
The consortium includes several companies and organizations active in the biometrics market.
The software it has publishes is complex, incomplete, scarcely adopted and (except for a very old version) non-free.
