1. I believe that for Ubuntu 10.10 (Linux 2.6.35) the wifi card power might be in the following file and not the one indicated (which does not exist):
/sys/class/net/wlan0/device/tx_power
2. hal-disable-polling does not exist in Ubuntu 10.10
(Warwickchapman = Username)
