Suspend to disk

I also have 2623D6U. I installed suse 10.2 successfully. I never tried to suspend before installing the ATI driver but now suspend does not work. It gets as far as writing Pages to disk. Then, an "S" appears and the suspend light stops blinking but the machine does not go off. When I turn it off and then back on, it boots normally and does not resume. Any ideas?
