No special remarks about Ubuntu 9.04 installation on Lenovo X300.

Everything works, including brightness control with fn-keys.

Problems: - Hibernate/Suspend (wake up leads to login-screen) -- fixed

- some Fn-keys don't do anything (for example Fn+F2 doesn't lock the screen)

- No scrolling with the Trackpoint as long as Touchpad not disabled in BIOS

- tp-fancontrol doesn't start any more as init-script

- thinkfan works very well on X300 and Ubuntu 9.04. Available there

Note: I don't have any of these issues on Ubuntu 9.04 on my x300, maybe it is Kubuntu support that is broken? -- Rboissat

Could you post your working tp-fancontrol-script? And are really _all_ Fn-keys doing their job? Then this might really be kubuntu. And can you tell how you got the scrolling with the Trackpoint enabled without disabling the Touchpad? -- Ben

To Ben: I disabled the touchpad, hence my blog may be not relevant for this issue. And I use thinkfan (which works properly), not tp-fancontrol -- Rboissat

Note: To speed up adobe flash in full srcen mode create file /etc/adobe/mms.cfg with OverrideGPUValidation=true in it -- kenny
