Try to download 'clean' kernel source from http://www.kernel.org, apply the swsuspend2 patch from

http://www.suspend2.net/downloads/all/suspend2-2.2-rc9-for-2.6.14.tar.bz2. Into this bz2 archive you'll find README how to patch kernel source. Kernel config for kernels 2.6.14 you'll find here : [http://dan.vl.sk/thinkpad/config-2.6.14 click !]. And as last : recompile this kernel by debian way : make-kpkg kernel-image.
