This page gives an introduction to Knoppix and an overview of related articles.

What is Knoppix?

For the first boot and maybe even the first install, especially if you want to use Debian, Knoppix may be the solution of choice. Knoppix is a Linux installation that can run entirely from your CD-ROM without changing anything on your harddrive. Another option is Kanotix, a Knoppix-descendant, which has some festures and extensions built in which are especially useful for notebook users.
