Kubuntu is a Linux distribution that is based on and part of the {{Ubuntu}} project. The difference is that where Ubuntu's desktop and applications are based on [[GNOME]], Kubuntu's are based on KDE. As it's brother, Kubuntu has a regular release cycle of six months, a clear focus on the user and usability (it should "Just Work", TM) and a commitment to security updates with 18 months of support for every release.
