I just grabbed the latest ubuntu kernel source, patched it, then ran:<br /> <br /> &lt;code&gt;<br /> fakeroot debian/rules clean<br /> <br /> fakeroot debian/rules binary-generic<br /> &lt;/code&gt;<br /> <br /> And installed the deb package it created.<br /> <br /> To get the installer to work, you need to pass the following arguments to the boot parameters:<br /> <br /> &lt;code&gt;xforcevesa i915.modeset=0&lt;/code&gt;<br /> <br /> That will also add the option to /etc/modprobe.d/local.conf so be aware of that once you fix it with the patch above.
