This kind of information has several uses: comparing one's consumption with that of other people's setups, knowing which model to use as a gateway/file server, etc.
* Suspend to disc and suspend to RAM (wow!)
{{NOTE| Suspend to Disc/RAM are encountering some problems after the upgrade of the fglrx driver, as has been noted many times. Sometimes Wireless is not functional after restart from RAM/Disc }}
To enable 3D acceleration, generate own rpm's from the ati package which can then be installed
either via yast or simply with rpm.
You should include the kernel sources in your installation since the ati script needs it to
generate the Suse specific package which in terms is needed to properly enable 3D acceleration

* OSD for sound, thinklight, brightness
{{HINT|Install the tpb package and enable the nvram kernel module (is available but not loaded by default)
change the rights on the /dev/nvram from 600 to 666 and include a small script like e.g.

What did I do wrong installing my Suse? I'm running Suse 10.1 (Gnome Desktop) on the T60 and cannot get either suspend to RAM nor suspend to disk working.
Suspend to disk usually freeze after a message like snd-hda-suspend bus=dda9cc80 state=0x1
--[[User:Stooofer|Stooofer]] 16:44, 25 October 2006 (CEST)

This might be related to the problem with the [http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Fglrx fglrx] drivers which was [http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Fglrx#Status reported] some time ago. I also had problems with both suspend-to-disc and suspend-to-ram from some point on, which was probably after a fglrx update. This problem seems to be fixed in version [https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/linux_8.34.8.html#182529 8.34.8] which was released recently. Hope this helps.
