It seems that the [https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ComposeKey compose key] - right CTRL - does not function correctly in Ubuntu 10.04.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It should have a dual function; if its pressed together with C,V,X, whatever, it acts just as CTRL does, but if its pressed it by itself, it will act as compose.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If in System &amp;gt; Preferences &amp;gt; Keyboard &amp;gt; Layout &amp;gt; Other Options right CTRL is turned as compose off, the CTRL function is restored, but obviously, compose is turned off.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So now I'm left with only one working CTRL key &lt;br /&gt;
