What is SUSE?

SUSE Linux is one of the oldest commercial Linux distributions around. The company is based in Nürnberg, Germany and started distributing Linux in 1994.

As Red Hat did before with Fedora, SUSE decided to open up their distribution into a community based branch in 2005 called OpenSUSE
