ThinkPad 2 series

The 200 series was developed as an even smaller subnotebook line to further reduce weight and size, in comparison to the 500 series.

As a result of the weight and space reduction, the floppy drive and the optical drive were removed for the sake of portability. Even the dock connector was no longer present on every model of this series, which was a massive disadvantage in comparison to some models of the 500 series, that had a dock connector for additional expandability.

Following the discontinuation of every numerical series ThinkPads, the 200 series was replaced with the S series as its successor.
