Also on 600E, and probably X and D, too. Hardly neccesary to replace, as it keeps good for nearly ten years, but that´s the age of the 600 series now (2010).

This page gives an overview over the different types of system batteries found in ThinkPads.

UltraBay batteries are listed in the UltraBay Devices overview.

For advice on battery treatment, see Maintenance.

Clock/CMOS Battery

ML1220

The G40 and the G41 do not use CR1220 cells as their CMOS battery, instead, they use a rechargeable ML1220 lithium-ion cell battery. The CMOS battery socket can be found underneath the RAM slot hatch.

CR2025

There is a CR2025 with a two-lead cable on it under the lid with the SDRAM-Slots beneath it. It´s hardly visible, but you can plug out the cable and softly pull on it. Also on 600E, and probably X and D, too. Hardly neccesary to replace, as it keeps good for nearly ten years, but that´s the age of the 600 series now (2010).

CR1220

Fits right in a socket, no cable assy on solder tabs. FRU 11J8591.
