The stylus either works immediately or it doesn't. It's unclear if one should always edit rc.local or not, and if he/she should install the wacom driver.
It's also unclear what you mean by acpi events are "out of the box." Clearly, installing an rpm is *not out of the box*, and the site for ibm-acpi says that it's in kernel 2.6.10. Either it is, or it isn't.
